The very foundation of our faith is what Jesus has called us to as His people (Matthew 22:36-40). That our very core of our persons- both as individuals and as the collective church whanau – is to love God with all we are and to love others.

Our Motto – Our Home, Your Home

This is a short but powerful phrase that lets every person know the heart of Beachlands Baptist is that people would feel at home here: that is, they are family, and they are loved.

Our Culture – That every person belongs

We recognise that every person has a part to play in the Body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:12-27). Our desire is for every person to know the love of Jesus and to find their place in our church whanau. God has called us to be His hands and feet in this world and blessed each person with different abilities to make this possible: and we do not function without you!

Beachlands Baptist Church is a member of the Baptist Union of New Zealand and is governed by a team of Elders who are elected at our AGM by those who are formal members of Beachlands Baptist. The Elders are responsible for the overall governance and spiritual oversight of all Beachlands Baptist activities (much like a Board of Trustees governs a school).

We fully acknowledge that Jesus is the primary leader of Beachlands Baptist, but on the ground operations are under the direction of our Pastor Melissa Wilson along with a team who in turn are empowered to recruit and equip (Ephesians 4:12) teams of volunteers to undertake all the ministry functions of Beachlands Baptist, making us a grass-roots-up organisation.
